This piece is from 1983 and I've always liked it because of the extra weapons the turtles are carrying. Makes it a unique piece.
Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I would love to ink a copy of this when time permits. My favorite turtles are the first turtles and I like when Pete and Kevin work together.
I don't think I've ever seen this image before. Very cool. I love seeing early renditions of the turtles. It really shows how much they've evolved over the past 25 years.
Extra weapons is an interesting idea. I know the TMNT normally carry shuriken with them, but a few swords would help in case their primary weapons break. Don's bo has broken on several occasions in the OT ("that was my favorite bo!") but I don't recall that happening in the other turtleverses. Still, it'd be helpful.
