Same here. I'm thinking that there may have been some lingering demand after the limited edition buttons sold out. Perhaps this was a way for Mirage to fulfill orders afterwards (hence the lack of numbers and different artwork)?
I've never heard of these either, but they are awesome..I love that art from the iron-ons...it was also used in the top corner of some of the TMNT Adventures comics!
wasn't it used on the little ' I D ' tag or whatever they called it on the upper right corner of the covers ..the little picture just right of the title logo.

Ryan, I think I was confusing these buttons with the Jeff Rudolph ones in your other "Button, Button, Who's Got The Buttons?" post, although these "Yellow Buttons" are also clearly hand-colored. Some of the art used, particularly the Leo and Don drawings, remind me of some art we did for either those iron-on t-shirt transfers we used to do, or for the little Dark Horse lead miniatures. The art on the Jeff Rudolph buttons, I believe, was done specifically for them.
This lead me to speculate that these "Yellow" buttons may be an unauthorized, "knock-off" product. I'm open to being enlightened otherwise, however.
As for the missing copyright info, it's clearly not there in the faces of these buttons, but could it be hidden where the edge of the button is crimped? -- PL
Thanks Pete. No copyright on them anywhere and I can't remember where I got them. They have been with the Rudolph buttons all these years but maybe someone gave them to me at a convention?
I had these all pinned to the "brother" of the foam turtle puppet that you gave to Mark.
