I have vented: http://savedbyatowel.com/2008/09/26/damn-non-existing-writers/.
nolan, I just sent the link to Murph.
Good-- now he can know to not lie to six year olds. :)Was I supposed to pick this up before? Like, I have an e-mail from Jim Lawson where he talks about "walking down to Dean's office". I'm so lost... *enters fetal position*
Did you always know that Dean & Steve were one in the same? Why did he write under Dean Clarrin?Be proud of your work, man!Haha!
There's an old Comics Interview that interviews the entire TMNTA crew (I think Ryan, Dan Berger, and "Dean"), complete with pictures that forced me to note, "Dean Clarrain sure looks like Murph..." I thought it was a typo or accidental use of the wrong photo for awhile, but bits and hints dropped on the blogs over the last year or so pretty much put two and two together.Me thinks I'll dig that up and scan it tonight...
Holy Crap! *jaw Drops* well go figure, Murph was rad to start with if that is his real name *squints eyes and looks around*hah anyway this is shocking to me and to think I praise the guy for the work he does to start with and then to find this out that he wrote one of my favorite turtle comics ever.I'm glad he's come out of the writter closet.-Vaughn
WOW. I'm shocked, but I applaud the man for revealing his true identity. Now, I'm left wondering... What's the next big revelation? Tristan H. Jones = Vaughn Michael?! Ryan Brown = Steve Lavigne?! Tokka = Rahzar?! GAH!!
durr **-->> And don't stress ..Vaugn isn'y Tristan .. Tokka isn't Rahzar .. .. However.. it turns out that it is possible for Tokka to be a real sweet guy and a pain in everyones' ass all at the same time>v<
Holy cowlick!!!!......I am still a little surprised that so few people realized it before Murph «went out» with it. I myself made a few tongue-in-cheek comments about "Dean Clarrain" (on this and Murph's blog.To be honest, the fact that Clarrain didn't own a single character from the comic he was supposed to write always bugged me, even as a kid (and who was that Murphy guy creating all the characters?!?). I didn't put too much thought into it for a long time, but when Murph started his blog, I quickly became convinced that Clarrain didn't exist at all.Plus, you guys made a few mistakes... Like that Ninjara ad in Furrlough where Murphy & Allan were credited, instead of Clarrain & Allan. Or TMNTA #26, with edits by Murphy. Not to mention the stylistic similarities between Murph's writing style in Puma Blues or Sons of the silent ages, and some of «Clarrain's» writing in some of TMNTA more serious issues.
-->> ..people are gonna go on for weeks about this ren't they.>v<
I'm glad Murph's "secret identity" as Dean Clarrain is out -- now I don't have to watch my words when I talk about the old Archie books! -- PL
Am I alone in thinking this was already outed? For some reason, I was under the impression that it was a "known" factoid among TMNT fandom... guess not! Maybe I was just jumping to conclusions, but I actually remember googling the phrase "murphy is dean clarrain" some time ago (though I can't recall what prompted me to do so).
bring them back^^after all ^^theyre important to the tmnta universe.. use the ol comic patch all have used,,,,phoenix^^
I had no idea!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where on Steve's blog can I find this reveal??
