For Your Approval

Now this is the stuff we saw nearly everyday. Concept art coming through the approval pipeline. Usually done with markers and mounted on Bristol board, this is the first glimpse of what the product would look like. A lot of this is showing up in online auctions and for our money is the cool stuff to collect. One of a kind and just seeing it again brings back fond memories for us. Maybe you recognize some of these items or have them in your collection?

I saw this a few days ago on ebay. Those TMNT mugs look pretty awesome, but I've never seen them before. Can anyone confirm whether these were released or not?

I think I've got some of the pin designs shown... Probably buried somewhere in my room. :)

There was never a Wendy's promo in the States - maybe it was international? Although some of it looks like it became the BK bicycle promo.

A lot of that stuff I don't recall ever being made, including the mugs. But it's all really cool!

I'm with Rose, most of these things came out either in burger king or in retail places like toys r us if I remember correctly.
Btw Tokka no pants wetting for me on this :P
I saw them on ebay a few days back.
Thought it was interesting but not something I'd spend my last few bucs on ;)

Man, this is awesome. I swear I have some suspenders with the same Donatello head as on the belt in the last picture.

-->> ..perhaps the Wendy's images are concepts for 'proposals' for promotions.

Some properties are pretty hot and can be " UP FOR GRABS " to the highest bidder and some promotions go thru' ..and some fall thru'.

I would imagine that the Wendy'd promos, while proposed ..fell thru'.

( My pants just wet me for once ) .. >v<

Ryan,

This stuff is cool to see, but I have to say it also gives me a little bit of the heebie-jeebies, as I think back to those days when there was just an absolute FLOOD of this knd of stuff coming into Mirage for approval. As I recall, it was very nearly overwhelming. Yow! -- Peter Laird
